Urbanization has been an important influence in the remaking of the watershed hydrology. Town and cities have tapped into mountain sources and groundwater alike with a growing pace, especially so under the influence of urban sanitation in the late 1800s. This map visualizes the temporal expansion of urban water supply system as animated sequence in one layer, and the different type of water sources used by each town. Color coding allows to get a clearer view of the overall pattern but each point provides specific information on the town and its water supply system, including type and year of construction.
